The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of road dust on human health. A PubMed search was used to extract references that included the words "road dust" and "health" or "fugitive dust" and "health" in the title or abstract. A total of 46 references were extracted and selected for review after the primary screening of articles. The respiratory system was found to be the most affected system in the human body. Lead, platinum-group elements platinum, rhodium, and bohrium , aluminum, zinc, vanadium, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were the components of road dust that were most frequently referenced in the articles reviewed.

Concrete And Cement Dust Health Hazards
Background: Cement contains various types of chemicals in addition to lime and silica, and such chemicals cause different health complications and pathogenesis in addition to respiratory disorders. The most important occupational hazards for cement workers are allergy and complication related to respiratory system. Aim: The current study was performed by analysing the questionnaire distributed among the workers and also by the sputum collected from them to study the general health conditions and other life activities. Methods: Sputum samples were assayed for cytological analysis by Hematoxylin and Eosin staining. Results: In this study, it was observed that majority of these workers suffered from different types of respiratory complications, such as a cough, asthma and lung infections.

They are exposed to different types of health hazards such as fume, gases and dust, which are risk factors in developing occupational disease. Cement industry is involved in the development of structure of this advanced and modern world but generates dust during its production.
